Wednesdays Cafe
As I’ve previously mentioned about my Social strategies and change, I’m going to introduce them into more details from now on.
As a freshman, experiencing a whole new lifestyle on campus (and you should know in Iran campus life can simply mean the turning point of a youth life), I found out about the role of a new element in life; Group activity and Team work.
Participating in many of the activities of independent groups and functioning teams I earned something I’d never want to lose; “A mechanism for better self actualization“, as the utmost of human needs in Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, and at the same time an effective key to fulfil a self-navigation and reach sort of self-awareness.
Two weeks ago, informed by an old friend, Parisa (whom I’d met once in real world along with another old movies friend Maryam, and I’d kept contacts on the net), I was invited to an English talk session, aiming at ameliorating the level language skills among fellows. The idea at first seemed rather general to me and could, in my opinion, lead to very diverse results. However, after 2 sessions it turned out to be of more use to me than I’d thought; Hence, once again I admired the power of social & scholar teamwork (Context is fortunately a real scholarly one!)
I’ll end up with a quick review of our last Cafe topics presented by each member in around 15 min:
- Maryam started the talks with a nice topic on “Afghan models”.
- Sara, our very nice host, improvised some talks on “Reincarnation”.
- Ehsan, also spoke a bit on “The Reasons of Soviet Union Disintegration”.
- I had my lecture on “Issues on Memory, Learning and Intelligence”.
Due to lack of time Anousheh and Parisa were left for the opening lectures of the next Cafe.
